Today while we were driving, Andrew and I were talking about the people that we love. I want my children to know, without a doubt, that they are loved. We always say "I love you" to them when they go somewhere, like school, or if we are leaving them for a bit for some other reason. Andrew has caught on and now says it also- to everyone that he meets. If you say good bye to him, more than likely he will say "Good Bye, I love you!" :)Friday, March 27, 2009

St. Patricks Day Fun
After that, Kelsi was convinced that this was the year we would catch a Leprechaun. She made this wonderful trap with the help of her father. We put Lucky Charms leading up to it because we heard that they love those!
Inside the trap were some Lucky Charms marshmallows...how could they resist?
When the kids woke up in the morning, these little green stones were all over the house. It seems that wherever a Leprechaun went he would drop a few, as if he was leaving a trail. We didn't catch one in our trap. Somehow he got the marshmallows and ran...very sneaky! We will try again next year. He did however turn our milk and toilet water green! He also left this for us...
Delicious treats! Legend tells us that if you decorate a box and leave it out on the eve of St. Patricks Day, the Leprechauns can't resist leaving you treats. We tried it and sure enough it is true!
Happy St. Patricks Day from our family to yours!!And a big Happy Birthday to Grandpa Urvina! We love you!

100th Post!!
In honor of my 100th post, you get to read 100 things about ME! Hopefully I won't bore you to much...
1. I have never been snow skiing.
2. I have never been water skiing and I am okay with not having done either!
3. I used to like NKOTB (okay, obsessed might be a better word) when I was like 10 years old. They recently put out a new CD and I Love it!
4. I slept in a parking lot twice to get concert tickets. (I told you I was obsessed!) My wonderful father came with me and my friends of course, he was so kind to indulge a bunch of silly 10 year old girls.
5. I love family history. My children are all named after someone wonderful in our family.
6. We love to get Chinese Food from Safeway. It's delicious and cheap!
7. I love to watch CSI. We have been watching it since it first started. It's not the same without Grissom, though.
8. I love to watch or read the news. I get the newspaper and read it online. Sometimes I still check the local news in Idaho where we used to live...crazy, huh.
9. I am pretty organized. I like to know where to find things and everything has it's place in my home.
10. I used to always worry about my house being clean, possibly to the point of near OCD. That has laxed a little bit with each child.
11. I love the Twilight series! I read them super fast, like in a day for each book. I would do nothing else but read.
12. I knew that Dave and I were going to get married before his parents even knew he had a girlfriend...boys just don't talk much I guess.
13. I love Split Pea Soup and have passed this on to Kelsi, Dave thinks we are nuts.
14. Dave and I are SCUBA certified. It was possibly the scariest thing I have ever done! I hope to go to Hawaii soon and go SCUBA diving amongst the beautiful sea life.
15. I love Target! Andrew does too and we always have too much fun there.
16. I quit piano lessons when I was younger and wish that I could play better now. You were right, mom!
17. My favorite color is pink.
18. I was in a pretty serious car accident my freshman year in college. We were all okay, but the car rolled a bunch of times and landed upside down. The good thing about it is that a couple who were in the car ended up getting married!
19. I love mexican food!
20. We almost bought a house, had even put an offer and it was accepted, before we went back to school. I drive by that house every day now and sometimes wonder what life would be like had we stayed here and got the house.
21. Going back to school was the hardest thing. I really wanted to get my degree since we were there. Juggling my family, school and church callings were difficult because I am such a perfectionist...but we did it!! And my GPA was higher than Dave's. ha ha
22. I drive a blue mini van and I love it!
23. I love to go camping, as long as there are bathrooms and showers close by.
24. I really enjoy cooking, but hate cleaning up the mess. Dishes are my least favorite thing.
25. I complained a lot about Rexburg while I lived there but had serious withdrawals when I left.
26. When Kelsi was born our doctor almost missed the delivery. He thought he had lots of time. My two other children were delivered by nurses, for the same reason. My babies come quick!
27. I love Anne of Green Gables and have enjoyed passing that on to Kelsi. It's so fun to watch then with her.
28. After high school I was going to attend a local community college and was all registered. About a week before Ricks was gonna start my parents talked (maybe bribed?) me into going to Idaho. It was the best decision ever!!
29. I enjoy watching old movies, especially Audrey Hepburn ones.
30. I am a night owl! I can stay up all night but please don't wake me up too early.
31. While in Rexburg I had a bad addiction- to sno cones. Especially Raspberry ones with ice cream on the bottom- delicious!
32. I love to take really hot baths, they are nice and relaxing.
33. I think the best chocolate ever is Sees Candies, the Nuts and Chews box. YUM.
34. I took a Statistics class over Christmas Break at BYU-Idaho. It was 2 weeks long, 6 hours a day. My brain hurt at the end of every day! I would come home and do homework till midnight, then get up the next day and start again. I did get an A and was happy to be done at the end of 2 weeks instead of having it for a whole semester.
34. I am the one who pays the bills in our home. Dave makes it and I spend it. :) I also do our taxes every year.
35. We were going to go to Hawaii this summer for our 10 year anniversary. With a new baby we have to wait a bit...but I am still getting my trip!!
36. We want to take our family to Disneyworld in a couple of years. We hope that my siblings and their families can come with us.
37. One semester at Ricks, my roommates and I based our schedules around "Days of our Lives". We couldn't miss a day.
38. I failed my drive test the first time. He said I did a California stop at the stop sign, I completely disagree!
39. I love Fridays. My house is clean (usually) and we stay home with the family and watch a movie from Redbox.
40. This is a confession- I sometimes listen to talk radio. Am I old??
41. Speaking of old, I turn 30 this July.
42. When I was 16, my first job was at Taco Bell. I was there for a whole year before I quit.
43. I love to read other peoples blogs. I should update mine more, but I spend too much time reading every one elses!
44. I love to go shopping for kids clothes, not so much for me. It's not as fun and the clothes aren't as cute.
45. After I had Kelsi my feet grew a whole size and none of my shoes fit anymore.
46. I love Spring!!
47. I also love the first snow of the year, but by February, I need sunshine. See above.
48. I don't love animals and won't let my kids have pets. Mean Mom, I know.
49. I hate grocery shopping.
50. I love the people where I live, our ward is awesome. But I would also love to be closer to my family so my kids could see their cousins more.
51. Sometimes I think my life is boring, but I much prefer it that way. I don't need drama!
52. I am terrified of losing one of my children or my husband.
53. I have scoliosis.
54. I went to the Portland temple open house when I was 10. I was married to my best friend there when I was 20.
55. I hate orange popsicles. Don't know why.
56. I do not know how to whistle, can't figure it out.
57. I am not very athletic, but I am pretty good at the batting cages.
58. I don't like others to cry alone, so if you cry in my presence I will too.
59. Once on Wii Bowling, I got 7 strikes in a row!!
60. Right after we got our van I hit an old lady in the Costco parking lot. Not her car, but her. She came from out of nowhere and I backed into her. She was fine, I wasn't going very fast.
61. When I was 16 or 17, I ruined our family van by crashing into those post things around the gas pumps. I didn't even know I did it until I got home because I had the radio up so loud.
62. When I was younger, I loved TGIF on tv. Full House was my favorite!
63. My sister is one of my best friends, though it certainly wasn't that way growing up. She is WAY older so we had nothing in common until I was married and having babies. :)
64. My maiden name is Urvina. No one ever spelled it right or said it right growing up. I love my last name now, it's hard to mess up Button.
65. I used to want 6 kids growing up...I think 3 is great now.
66. When Dave and I first met, I really liked his neighbor. But he left on a mission that summer and the rest, well...you know.
67. I know how to drive a stick shift, though I haven't driven one in quite awhile.
68. I love my Josh Groban CD's. I would love to see him live someday.
69. We haven't had cable or any TV for a year. And we are ok and pretty normal. The few shows we like, we watch online.
70. I love gerbera daisies!
71. I also love pink roses.
72. I have seen "My Best Friends Wedding" possibly a million times.
73. My freshman year of college I worked at a place doing phone surveys. WORST job ever.
74. I paid a girl to clean our apt once in Rexburg because I was so busy and stressed about school. Dave was furious- but he helped more at home after that.
75. I love Celine Dion. I have seen her twice, once in Vegas with my mother in law and once in Tacoma with my sister. So fun!
76. When we got the tickets for the Tacoma show, Dave didn't want me to get them. I put them on the credit card thinking he wouldn't see the charge. He did. Woops!
77. Every year my parents and siblings like to go camping or do something fun together. This year we are going to the beach and I can't wait!!!
78. There are 12 grandkids on my side of the family and most are under 8. It's always a little crazy when we get together, but so much fun too.
79. I don't have too many fond memories of high school...the drama was a little much for me.
80. The summer after my freshman year at Ricks I went on a one month travel study of US and Church History sites. It was exhausting and so fun at the same time.
81. When we returned to BYU-Idaho 7 years later, our Bishop was one the of teachers who went on the travel study!
82. In high school, they had this policy that if you missed class 12 times you were kicked out and lost credit. Well, I skipped a little too much then got sick. So I missed more than 12...they were trying to kick me out and my mom went to the school and fought for me even though I probably didn't deserve it. She asked my teacher what my grade was in the class and it was like 96%. She said, "How can she have a 96% with so many absences and you still want to kick her out?" They let me stay in the class...and I got an A.
83. I took 3 years of spanish in High School and 1 in college. I still feel like I know hardly anything.
84. My Bachelors Degree is in Child Development.
85. I had braces when I was expecting Andrew...I looked like a pregnant 15 year old.
86. I always spend way too much money when I go to Costco. I can't get out of there without spending $100. And that's a good day :)
87. In elementary school I walked to school every day and was so jealous of my friends who got to ride the bus. I loved when I got to go home with them on the bus...it was so cool.
88. I have people on my Facebook who I haven't seen since elementary school. It's so fun to see what they are up to now.
89. I may have a slight addiction to Facebook...
90. I love my husband for many reasons, but one is that he bathes the kids and gets them all ready for bed so that I can relax. Or check Facebook.
91. Dave proposed to me on February 13, 1999. It was my idea to go on a hike, so we climbed up a mountain. But it was covered in snow up to my knees and I was a little grumpy when we got to the top. My mood changed quickly when I saw the ring...ha ha
92. On Christmas Eve when I was 8 years old our house burnt down. It was sad but we were all okay.
93. I don't like to be cold. One of the great things about living in Rexburg was that we didn't have to pay for heat. Now that I pay for it, I don't keep it as warm as I would like.
94. My son Andrew loves the movie "Cars" and I am a little obsessed with buying the toy cars from the movie. I don't know who likes them more, him or me.
95. I am a list person. I always have lists of things to do, to buy, and so on.
96. I love homemade tomato soup! I have the best recipe and though it's quite a bit of work, I am going to make it this summer.
97. When I was younger, my family rented an RV for a family vacation. It was so fun and I want to do that with my own children sometime.
98. I love raspberry milkshakes. I must be hungry because I am writing a lot about food.
99. Being a mother is the hardest thing that I have ever done, but it is also the greatest. I can't imagine my life without my children and husband.
100. I have spent way too much time on this list!! Hope you learned something new about me. haha

Kayli's Blessing Day
Kayli was blessed by her father last Sunday, wearing the same dress that her sister and 3 Urvina cousins have also worn. I wonder if when Grandma bought the dress almost 14 years ago she thought of all the beautiful granddaughters that would one day wear the dress for their special blessing days. On the inside slip, we have each of their names embroidered along with the dates of their blessing.
Kayli and Grandpa, sharing a special moment. Grandma, we missed you!!
The happy parents with their adorable baby :)
This is a picture of the family that was able to be here. We are so thankful to those who were able to come and share Kayli's special day with our family. Those who couldn't make it, you were missed! It was a fun and crazy day...there are a lot of young children in our family right now which means that something exciting is always going on. We love the cousin chaos though, wouldn't have it any other way.

The Greatest Place...
Last weekend we went over to Seattle to pick a friend up from the airport. While there we stopped at the Southcenter Mall. It's my new favorite place, even though it's 2 1/2 hours away. This is where I got to sit and nurse my baby! How nice is that?
Here is Dave with Kayli, sitting in the "Family Room" at the mall.
This room has a TV that's playing the Disney channel, nice chairs, and toys for kids to play with. Notice the 3 lovely nursing rooms on the side. And the place is clean! Why doesn't everywhere have places like these?? Posted by Keri_B 6 comments
