Mariner Fan Fest

We went up to Safeco Field yesterday with the Vander Hoeven Family for Mariner Fan Fest. It was cold, it was rainy, it was so much fun!! We got to go down on the field, into the dug out, into the clubhouse and we came home with lots of free goodies. Kelsi can't wait to go back and see a real game. Go Mariners!!!

Our family on 1st base!

Dave and Kelsi playing catch on the field.

The Mariner Moose came to say hello to the fans.

Bo Bo Brothers

Anyone out there watch Diego?? Andrew and his cousin Ben are Diego's biggest fans. In fact, some days Andrew only answers to the name of Diego. The Bo Bo Brothers are two monkeys who are always being silly and causing problems for Diego who is trying to rescue some animal in danger. We like to call the little guys our Bo Bo brothers. They are having lots of fun playing together, though my sister and I have started buying toys in twos. We feel like we have twins though the boys are 14 months apart. They have definitely gotten into trouble on more than one occasion!!

Back to Rexburg...Brrrr, it's cold!!

If you click on this and make it bigger, look at Andrew's face. He wouldn't take his hands away because the snow was bugging him!

This past weekend we had the opportunity to head back to Rexburg and attend the Rexburg Temple Open House. We moved to Rexburg about 2 weeks after they broke ground for the temple and watched them turn a wheat field into a beautiful House of the Lord. We lived right by the temple so we drove by every day and loved to see the progress. Last year when they put Moroni on the temple Kelsi and I watched from our car- it was pouring down rain and of course, windy that day too. It made me a little sad that we had to move 2 weeks before the open house began, but I was determined to take my family back. It was absolutely beautiful, in every room, in every way. Kelsi's favorite part was the sealing room, she loved the mirrors. That temple has a lot of sealing rooms, I wonder why?!? The trip was fast, the drive was long. It was well worth it though. We got to see all of Dave's brothers and many of our great Rexburg friends...who I already miss again! Of course, we don't miss the snow and wind that makes Rexburg so lovely in Winter!!

A little update...

So I have kind of been a slacker on the blog, but it's only because I was hoping to have something to tell people...and I still don't. You can stop reading now if you want. We are living at my sister's house right now (Thanks!!) and Dave is looking for a job. He has an interview on Friday and we think another coming as well. Hopefully someone will hire my husband soon, there are way too many fun stores here and I need some money to go shopping! IKEA, anyone??? Kelsi is adjusting to her new school. It's a public school, but they have to wear uniforms. It's pretty much just khaki pants and a white or navy blue polo shirt. Not bad, but not Kelsi's style. She has started swimming lessons and is loving that!! There aren't nearly as many kids here as Rexburg (there aren't that many kids anywhere else except Provo!) Andrew turned three right before we moved but he does not want to be three, he wants to be two. That is what he says anyways. He also does not like Sunbeams at church because there are no toys. He is a character!! I am just hanging out with my sister, trying not to bug her too much! It's been fun being closer to our families and we hope to be able to spend lots of time with them now that we are closer. As much as we love my sister and her family for sharing their home with us, we hope to get a job and find a place of our own soon. I will let you know when we have any news! We are returning to Rexburg this weekend to attend the temple open house. I am super excited to see the temple that I lived next to for the two and a half years while they were building it. Not as excited for the drive...hopefully it won't be too horrible. I will post pics when we get home.

Adios, Iceberg!!

It's official. I am no longer a resident of that very cold and windy place in Idaho. On Friday, Dave and I both graduated and on Saturday we left town. Pictures of the happy graduates to soon follow. It was great to have the help of my mom, sister and Dave's brother and his wife..we couldn't have gotten everything done without their help. Thanks guys!! We are now at my sister's house after the longest day of driving EVER. I thought we would never get here. Driving over mountain passes in Winter in the middle of the night with bad windshield wipers- not the greatest thing to do, in case you might be wondering if you should do that. Of course, before that I had been a little sleepy and that kept me wide awake for the rest of the trip. I am going back to Rexburg in a few weeks for the temple open house, but right now I can't think about that drive- I need to block out the one from yesterday first. To my great Idaho friends- I love you and will miss you!! It's strangely warm to me in Western Washington and I am liking that right now!

TAGGED!!

I have been tagged as it is called and tagged by Laura. Here are the RULES. Each player lists 6 facts/habits about themselves. At the end of the post, the player then tags 6 people and posts their names, then goes to their blog and leaves them a comment letting them know that they've been tagged and asking them to read your blog for game rules/details.

Here are mine:

1. I am a certified SCUBA Diver. Dave and I took a class a year ago and it was terrifying for me...but I did it! We haven't been diving since then, but I look forward to someday SCUBA Diving in beautiful clear water in Hawaii.

2. I hate doing laundry. It is my least favorite domestic duty. I don't mind so much throwing it in the washing maching and dryer. It's the folding and putting away that I detest so much. Usually by the time I am done, the hampers are full of dirty clothes again. It is a nasty cycle that never ends.

3. I love Taco Time!! They have the best ice in town, the little tiny kind that is so awesome. I am a regular customer in their drive thru, so much so that the owner who usually works the drive through, knows me by name. :) Sad, but true. He is disappointed that his best customer is moving soon but he has been kind enough to give us lots of great boxes.

4. I have never been snow or water skiing. I know, I know. I grew up in the Northwest with mountains and lakes everywhere. I don't even have a desire to to either type of skiing- and as long as I never do I will have something to say when I am tagged!

5. I am somewhat of a clean freak, though you wouldn't know it from looking at my house right now.(We are moving next week, I have a good excuse!)I love to organize things in my home and I will be forever grateful to Rubbermaid for inventing wonderful storage containers. Valerie- I am coming to your house soon, are you ready for me and my organizing ways??

6. This Summer my husband bought a motorcycle and I was okay with it. I had so many wives tell me they would never let their husband get a bike and they were shocked that I let Dave get one. He's a grown man who works hard (most of the time), so who I am to tell him what he can or can't do? Of course, the thing was a money pit and we no longer have it but he enjoyed his mid-life crisis toy while he had it. :)
